Another hot day at the races with the Virginia Mini Cup race teams. This day we were at Shenandoah Speedway in Shenandoah, Virginia. A beautiful location and a great track. I love the way everything is set up here. My favorite track in the mini cup circuit. The pictures here always come out great
I didn’t get the the go kart races at East side this morning as my wife had gotten a dog from a friend who passed away earlier this week. So I was busy setting up a runner all morning for the dog. The dog, it turns out was adopted from the SPCA. I’m guessing the previous owner was a male who must have beat the pup cause it just growls at me all the time. My wife keeps telling me to give it some time and she’ll get used to me. Guess we’ll see.
You can check out this weeks race photos by clicking on this link to the Mini Cup Gallery
Next race will be at the Motor Mile in Radford, Virginia on August 9th.

Meet the new Mr. and Mrs. Brian and Jaclyn Caricofe. The newly weds tied the
knot this past weekend. Brian is my nephew and the pair had asked me to take some photographs of the wedding. Course I was more than happy to. We’re all proud of the new couple and wish them all the best in their new life together.

The fields have come to new life as late spring rolls around. I spied
a young buck and a doe taking care of it’s fawn in the fields behind my house
the last few days. I’ve added them into both photo gallery’s. Which reminds
me. I’ve been working on an upgrade to the gallery software and have installed
a new gallery. Still working on it but it’s up and working. You can get to it

Haven’t been on here in a while. Course it’s racing season and I’ve been off doing my thing with the racing folks and having a great time. Ball season is coming in and I’ve started working on their shirt graphics also so it’s been keeping me pretty busy. Spring here in the valley has been wet and windy. If it hasn’t been raining then it’s been windy. Cleaning up from the winter wind storms has been a real task. There is still a few shingles to replace on my roof. Finally got the pool opened up and the water is greener this year than it’s ever been. Down right nasty looking. Got my new deck done! Mr. Gary Carter with Heritage Masonry of Crimora, Virginia did a super fantastic job. My wife and I just love it. Well i guess thats about it. Oh, the fox up there. I spotted that little guy in the field last week. He comes out and hunts the field every morning around 9. The little thing looks like it’s got one hell of a skin rash going on there.

Been working on rebuilding the Virginia Mini Cup Racing Associations (VMCRA) website for the past couple of weeks. I’ve been taking photos and maintaining their website for the past few years now. It’s always a lot of fun touring the countryside and visiting the different race tracks through the summer. Being a race fan makes it all that much better for me. The number 17 car above belongs to Chuck Cusson and is driven by Jason Adkins. Chuck is the person who got me started in racing photography way back when he was racing Go Karts at the local track. “You gotta come down and get some pictures” he would say. Finally after a while I caved in and it’s been a love affair ever since. Not with him mind you, the race photography. I followed him and his son through the Go Karting on into the Mini Cup Racing taking photographs all the way. Never been much of a mechanic, so that part was out. His son, Michael won the 2006 championship with the mini cups and then had a rough start the next season then finally got tired of it. Now Chuck’s back up driver, Jason, drives the car. He’s a pretty talented driver and really a great person to know.
Back to the car. The car number 17 above is plastered with my racing sites .. Dirty Hanks, Racer-tees, GoKart-tees and Blue Ridge Pictures is on it also. I couldn’t believe he had done that. We had talked about it, but I could never afford to have it done. Even with my little t-shirt graphics business, I could never afford it. But, that’s the kinda guy Chuck has always been. I started the Racer-Tees web site after making him a racing shirt one year. From there, one of the other teams had seen it and wanted some, then another team and so on. That is how the Racer-tees web sites got started. Links to them are in the sidebar. So now you can go buy a shirt to help pay for the car
Now, back to the race photo’s. I like to focus my attention on the teams and what they are doing before, during and after a race. Gives more of a feel like being there instead of up in the stands looking in. Also a lot of cool action shots, so check em out folks. Let me know what you think. Links are in the side bar.

Although the leaves have not changed colors yet here in the valley, I could see the mountain tops had. So, I loaded up the camera and took a little trip. I left later in the day in hopes of catching a good sunset off the parkway. As far as hiking up to a hill top
thats still out of the question according to my ciropractor. Better wait a while yet, he says. Well anyway, didnt get the sunset shot. I did get a few of some doe’s standing around feeding. They are not as “skiddish” up there than they are down here. Can’t see as to why. They may be hunted down here but thier chances of getting plowed over by a speeding tourest are even greater up there on the parkway. I also got a shot of Massanutten Mountain and a few others. Catch em all in the wallpaper gallery

I stepped out this morning to find two young foxes in the field at play.
I watched them as they chased each other around the hay bales and wrestled
along the edge of the woods before deciding to get the camera out. Knowing the camera’s disk was still full from yesterdays racing at Mountaineer Raceway in West
Virginia. I hoped they would still be around long enough for me to empty
the disk. Lucky for me they were still at play. The sun had not peeked out from
behind the mountain yet, The photos came out a little blurry as it was still
not enough light for the camera’s liking. As i tried to get in a little closer, the pair spotted me and into the woods they went.

My nephew Brandon and his fiancé Amber stopped by for a visit this evening with their daughter, Addison. Addison is 6 days old and she is a little cutie. I managed to sneak in a few photos.

I was approached by friends of a friend who were looking for someone to do some hunting photography for their son. Seems they had one of the local companies here (not going to mention who) do it in their studio for a huge sum of money and the photos came out well, not to their liking. Now hey, I’m always up for something new so I readily agreed to do the shoot here at my place. Turned out to be a lot of fun and they just loved the photos. I was in it for the fun but they insisted on paying me something. .. My price … case of beer. lol

Added in a new album in the Floral section on the wallpaper gallery.
I took these photos this morning while out back enjoying the sunrise and the morning mist. I thought they would be great for the wallpaper gallery. I see the woodland wildflowers are back this year in the field. Maybe i’ll trek back out there in the morning and get some photos there also.

I’ve got a new shirt in the works for hikers. This project design will cover all 51 states.
I hope to finish around November. Course that depends on how the day job and my other projects go. I release a sneak peak after i get two thirds of the way.
