Race Photos
Been working on rebuilding the Virginia Mini Cup Racing Associations (VMCRA) website for the past couple of weeks. I’ve been taking photos and maintaining their website for the past few years now. It’s always a lot of fun touring the countryside and visiting the different race tracks through the summer. Being a race fan makes it all that much better for me. The number 17 car above belongs to Chuck Cusson and is driven by Jason Adkins. Chuck is the person who got me started in racing photography way back when he was racing Go Karts at the local track. “You gotta come down and get some pictures” he would say. Finally after a while I caved in and it’s been a love affair ever since. Not with him mind you, the race photography. I followed him and his son through the Go Karting on into the Mini Cup Racing taking photographs all the way. Never been much of a mechanic, so that part was out. His son, Michael won the 2006 championship with the mini cups and then had a rough start the next season then finally got tired of it. Now Chuck’s back up driver, Jason, drives the car. He’s a pretty talented driver and really a great person to know.
Back to the car. The car number 17 above is plastered with my racing sites .. Dirty Hanks, Racer-tees, GoKart-tees and Blue Ridge Pictures is on it also. I couldn’t believe he had done that. We had talked about it, but I could never afford to have it done. Even with my little t-shirt graphics business, I could never afford it. But, that’s the kinda guy Chuck has always been. I started the Racer-Tees web site after making him a racing shirt one year. From there, one of the other teams had seen it and wanted some, then another team and so on. That is how the Racer-tees web sites got started. Links to them are in the sidebar. So now you can go buy a shirt to help pay for the car
Now, back to the race photo’s. I like to focus my attention on the teams and what they are doing before, during and after a race. Gives more of a feel like being there instead of up in the stands looking in. Also a lot of cool action shots, so check em out folks. Let me know what you think. Links are in the side bar.
Autumn In the Blue Ridge

Although the leaves have not changed colors yet here in the valley, I could see the mountain tops had. So, I loaded up the camera and took a little trip. I left later in the day in hopes of catching a good sunset off the parkway. As far as hiking up to a hill top
thats still out of the question according to my ciropractor. Better wait a while yet, he says. Well anyway, didnt get the sunset shot. I did get a few of some doe’s standing around feeding. They are not as “skiddish” up there than they are down here. Can’t see as to why. They may be hunted down here but thier chances of getting plowed over by a speeding tourest are even greater up there on the parkway. I also got a shot of Massanutten Mountain and a few others. Catch em all in the wallpaper gallery
Red Fox

Hunting Photos
Well this post may catch me some flack.

I was approached by friends of a friend who were looking for someone to do some hunting photography for their son. Seems they had one of the local companies here (not going to mention who) do it in their studio for a huge sum of money and the photos came out well, not to their liking. Now hey, I’m always up for something new so I readily agreed to do the shoot here at my place. Turned out to be a lot of fun and they just loved the photos. I was in it for the fun but they insisted on paying me something. .. My price … case of beer. lol

Camping

Appalachian Trail
The Great Appalachian Trail. Covering 2174 miles and 14 states from Maine to Georgia. Travel along and learn about AT with these unique T-shirts designs.
As a native to New Hampshire and avid White Mountain hiker in my younger days, I’ve always admired the beauty of the Appalachians. Now residing in the Shenandoah Valley, resting in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, I’m always up for a short hike and visit some of the waterfalls that line the parkway. These days it seems to be all i have time for. I can admired the AT thru hikers and the adventure they are undertaking.
I thought I’d make something to highlight the trail, the states and regions it winds through and the highpoints of the trail for each state. Maybe even something a thru hiker can reflect on, so I hope I got it all right. The design took me 4 months to create, I now offer 26 variations to choose from.
